Of Ruffles and Flowers
I met someone today who wore ruffles and her attire was to die for. I mean it was so simple yet it was so elegant.
Moving on....
I mentioned about making an entry about ruffles and thank God for magazines! I have found some designers (at last) who make a dress, skirt or tops with ruffles! Thank you Female, Elle and Cleo!
Ruffles are easily associated with flowers. Try not putting a dress with a lot of ruffles and flowers. One big flower i think is enough.
The thing with this trend is that it is only for a solid color. It simply means that you can never see blue and yellow together in a dress with ruffles. Wear bags or shoes or accessories that contrasts the color of the attire.
Gowns can also have ruffles. In a gown, one can wear flowers (can be a lot of flowers) and ruffles together. The reason is that a gown is long and for me a designer can put a lot of details on it.
Ruffles can be placed at the bottom to have a mermaid tail effect on the gown.
When ruffles are found on the top (meaning around one's neck), try keep your pants plain or just wear tights (no designs pleasee!)
The same thing goes for ruffled skirts.
Add a contrasting colored belt to break the monochromatic effect of the attire.
Ruffles can be used on business attire. Just remember keep all clothing plain.

Tips on Ruffles:
1. Keep it plain. Two contrasting colors on the dress is a big NO NO
2. If you want to break the monochromatic effect of the attire, contrasting colors of accessories, shoes or bags should be used.
3. Another is wearing a thin belt
4. It can be paired with either a sandal, flip flop, heels, pumps, wedges and the list goes on. I think sneaker and rubber shoes will match the outfit (duuh)
5. Keep other details to a minimum in short dresses.
